Improved Compatiblity with More Windows Applications:
- Now works with Windows Server 2003
  Shorthand now supports the Windows Terminal Services running on Windows Server 2003. You must install Shorthand on the server to be able to use Shorthand from a terminal.
- Now works with applications running under a different user context
  Shorthand now works with applications launched through the Windows "Run As" command.

New Features, Options and Commands:
- Ability to replay last expansion
  The new "Restore Last" command (right click anywhere in the Main Window's Text to Type box or click the Text to Type label) restores the text last expanded by Shorthand. If, for some reason, an expansion was not done correctly you can replay the expansion by pressing the hot key to bring up Shorthand, right click on the Text to Type box, select "Restore Last" then click the Type It button.
  Tip: You can use the new "sh_set lastTextToType" tcl command to create a Shorthand shortcut to replay the last entry. For example, this entry will make Ctrl+R replay the last expansion:
- Suggestion Window automatically hidden
  The Suggestion Window (if enabled) is now automatically hidden when you access the Main Window. The Suggestion Window reappears when you click the HIDE button.
- Option to hide Text to Type box in Main Window
  You can now hide the Text to Type box in the main window through the "Show Text to Type box" option in Dictionary menu.
- Checks for READ-ONLY word lists
  Shorthand Now checks and displays warning messages if the .spf file is marked READONLY by Windows. A file could be marked READ-ONLY if copied from a CD.
- @INPUTTCL tags can now be navigated
  You can now abort an input dialog by having an {@INPUTTCL} script return the string "SH_CANCEL". Returning the string "SH_BACK" will display the previous {@INPUT} tag. Returning the string "SH_RESTART" will display the first {@INPUT} tag.
- New @INPUTDATE option
  If "@LONG" is specified, the long date format is the default selection. See the Sh9.hlp file for more information.
- New @INPUT options
  - If "@WANTRETURNS" is specified, the ENTER key will insert a new line instead of displaying the next screen.
  - If @GROUPBOLD is specified, items that begin with an asterisk "*" are non-selectable and displayed in BOLD.
  - If @GROUPPRINT is specified, items that begin with an asterisk "*" are non-selectable but will be included in the output if at least one of it's subitems is selected.

- "Dictionary Refresh" command.
  The new Dictionary | Refresh command which will reload the active dictionary and any linked entries. This is useful if you are using linked word lists that are shared among several users and want to make sure your entries are up-to-date.
- New Tcl Commands
  - "sh_set textToType" returns the current contents of the Text to Type box. This command is normally used with the "sh_set onTransfer" event handler to modify the expanded text.
  - "sh_set onTransfer ?script?" tells Shorthand to evaluate a script just before Shorthand expands text to the target window.
  - "sh_set targetWindowHandle" returns the Windows handle of the target window that will receive the expanded text from Shorthand.
  - "sh_set lastTextToType" returns the last expanded text (i.e. the contents of Restore Last buffer).
- Option to reset Shorthand on mouse-clicks
  In previous releases, mouse clicks do NOT reset Shorthand's keyboard tracker; this was by design to allow Shorthand to work with onscreen keyboards. If you wish to disable this feature (i.e. mouse clicks WILL reset the keyboard tracker and Shorthand will NOT work with on-screen keyboards), uncheck the "Support On-Screen Keyboards" option in File | Preferences | AutoReplace.
- Now detects if Clipboard is in use
  Previous versions of Shorthand may lock up if the text transfer method is set to "Simulate Clipboard Paste" and the clipboard was locked by another application. In Version 9, Shorthand will simply insert nothing if the clipboard is locked. The clipboard can be locked if Shorthand starts to expand an abbreviation while a previous abbreviation with a large amount of text has not completely transferred to the target word processor. You can usually avoid having the clipboard locked by another application by waiting until Shorthand has completely transferred the text before typing another abbreviation.
